1913 - FOUNDATION    
Foundation in Linz as the first foreign subsidiary of the Swiss company Sprecher & Schuh Cie.
 
1960 - CONTROL SYSTEMS  
Establishment of the business section "control systems".
1986 - SALES OF ENERGY DIVISION    
Sprecher & Schuh sells the energy division to the French Alsthom group.
 
1988 - FIRST RENAMING    
Renaming of Sprecher & Schuh GmbH in Linz into Sprecher Energie Österreich GmbH.  
1994 - SECOND RENAMING    
Sprecher Energie Österreich GmbH becomes GEC Alsthom T&D GmbH.   
1998 - THIRD RENAMING    
After ALSTOM's listing on the stock exchange, the company in Linz becomes ALSTOM Austria AG.  
2002 - SPRECHER AUTOMATION GMBH  

 

The control systems division is sold by ALSTOM Austria AG to a group of the company's managers and is consequently converted into the new Austrian company Sprecher Automation GmbH. Henceforth, Sprecher Automation is acting as an autonomous enterprise at the traditional Sprecher location in the Franckstraße in Linz.
